I. Second information layer
The user is informed that this Site uses cookies and/or similar technologies (hereinafter referred to generically as “cookies”), which are used to store and retrieve data on the user's terminal equipment (for example, a computer, a mobile phone or a tablet) when browsing. (hereinafter, the “Bank”), through which an information society service is provided.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are files that are stored on the device of a user browsing the Internet or other types of platforms and applications (for example, apps for smartphones and tablets) and which, in particular, contain a number that uniquely identifies the user's device, even if it changes location or IP address.
We may also use similar technologies used to store and retrieve data, such as local shared objects or flash cookies, web beacons or bugs, or pixels or web tags, as well as any device fingerprinting technique.
The specific uses we make of these technologies are described below.
2. What types of cookies do we use?
This Site only uses technical cookies.
Technical cookies are those that allow the user to browse through the Site and use the different options or services available on it, including those used to enable the Site's management and operation and to activate its functions and services. Why do we process the data?
In certain circumstances, the use of cookies involves processing the personal data of users who visit the Site, when they identify themselves or provide certain identifying or contact details that make it possible to distinguish one user's browsing from another's, or when the user is identified through an IP address.
How do we obtain your data?
Directly from you, through the information you provide us when you browse our web pages and mobile applications, through the use of cookies or any other type of online identifier, or through the digital fingerprint of your device or terminal.

Service providers of the Bank: The Bank works with certain third-party service providers who have access to users' personal data and who process that data, as data processors, on behalf and on the instructions of the Bank as a result of providing their services.
The Bank follows strict criteria when selecting service providers in order to comply with its data protection obligations, and undertakes to sign the corresponding data processing agreement with them, under which it will impose obligations including: applying appropriate technical and organisational measures; processing personal data only for the agreed purposes and solely in line with the Bank's documented instructions; and deleting or returning the data to the Bank once the provision of services has ended.
Will the data be transferred to third countries?
The Bank will only transfer data to third countries if there is an adequacy decision establishing that the country has a level of protection comparable to that of the European Union or, failing that, by applying appropriate safeguards in accordance with data protection law, such as signing Standard Contractual Clauses or Binding Corporate Rules. Data subjects may request additional information about these appropriate safeguards through the contact details given in the “What are users' rights?” section.
How long will we keep the data?
The personal data collected will be kept for as long as the contractual relationship with the User lasts, or for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, all in accordance with the terms set out in the “How long will we keep your data?” section of the privacy policy.
What are users' rights?
Users may exercise their rights of access, rectification, objection, restriction, portability and erasure against the Bank, or raise any question relating to the processing of their personal data, by sending an email to privacidad@gruposantander.es or by post to the following address: C/ Juan Ignacio Luca de Tena, 11-13, 28027 Madrid (Attn. 4. Effective Date of the Policy.
This policy was last updated on 17 April 2024, and may be subject to further changes whenever required by current legislation, or when there is any change in the use of the cookies used on the Site, in which case, if necessary, the Bank will ask the user for consent to their use again.
